Continued

We jumped back into class after easter. And after a particularly trying lecture, we had our regular Dr. Goodwin and it actually went pretty effectively. I think everyone was a bit hesitant to proceed due to the fact that even despite a week off for easter, marks/feedback from our early presentation have not yet been given to everyone.

At the time, and even still a little now, I've been inundated with various ideas jumping around and being "trampled by a whole load of drug-crazed dingoes during a cyclone" -  The Whole Business with Kiffo and the Pitbull, Barry Jonsberg. Now I have to sift through the cavernous spaces collecting dust within the confines of my mind and excess loose papers spelunking in enormous Mary Poppins carpet bags.

So I should compress and express the ideas bouncing around, as the original idea has evolved and alien'd the crap outta initial expectations.
1. Graphics - integrate into the home.
2. Abstract graphics - integrate into interactive walls/surfaces and also future technology.
(also sometime in the previous points I was looking to illustrate world degradation...)
3. Texture and interactivity of walls/surfaces.
4. Atmosphere - just make the space freaking cool!

Now. WHAT DID GOODWIN SAY?!?!
At around 5:50 he finally got through all the elongated less than eloquent expression of furthering projects. And we both could not care less. So I talked him through the boob wall (I realised upon reflection that the first image in 'To Be Continued..' looks like a wall of boobs.) and the idea to create an atmosphere and interrupting walls. He was onboard. However through the ever developing dodgy sketches we reached some further ideas:
1. Instead of this thing becoming more imposing or changing due to energy use, howsabout  we adjust the cycle. The thing should become more impressive when less energy is used.
2. Another thing, why doesnt this become a product? Yup. A thing that can be placed in a room instead of a hypothetical concept piece.
3. Extra stuff: where is this energy coming from, why dont you use inflation, make it look beautiful and hideous when energy consumption is used.

Great stuff. Im not so emotionally attached to this project as of yet so...products. Product making. Hmm. Not something I thought I would jump into, but yeah, I see the line of thought. BRING IT.

I published this and realised that I didnt actually give my own point of view - which is super important since it is in fact my project...a thing this year we tend to forget and focus on our two tutors, mentors, clients, other students etc. There. We need to focus on us and our opinons. How else are we going to become better designers if we dont provide our own defence on ideas?

Apologies for the tired ranting. I feel this should belong in a vlog. Or is there enough self-indulgent rambling videos on the internet as it is? I dont have much to say any further on the project. It shall continue another day. However if I stay on just a bit longer, it may just be another day. Crap that is a fair bit of writing.
