I stumbled across the Visual Voltage Exhibition online looking for "tangible energy" or "visualising energy" (some crap like that). According to Design Boom the exhibition "explores the use of energy through smart design..." and for more info the link is below.
Anyway this is an Energy Aware clock. Yep. The irony isn't lost. But its a great look at the crossover between art/design/technology/info-design..blah blah
The simple design, straightforward concept and ease-of-use all combine in a gooey brownie mix of elegance and just enough sci-fi-y characteristics to make everyone want one. It hits a 24 hour time scale and aims to configure the smallest energy-use-picture. Its a brilliant idea/product. Well at least to an extent. My concept follows the same lines....only at a bigger scale. It shares a pictorial expression of what is being measured and has an in-home local. tech tech tech tech.
What else...Its limited. Bit uninformative. Too simple. Exactly what it was supposed to be.
Lets pimp it up.
