3D Walls

I've been internally visualising an interactive house where you would be encouraged to touch the walls and SEE resource usage. However, many people tend to think of this:

Recently i've been thinking about adding texture to walls in conjunction with the visual displays. Not a substantial thought but a random collection of ideas from previous years work with Fang Xu (form, colour, shape, texture etc). Oh good god. 

There are a bunch of wall panels currently available in a bunch of styles/colours/materials etc. Here are a few:

 

minimalisti: has a great post about dividing spaces that use eco-materials. It's a promising concept which has a number of properties that relate to this project.

This vid looks at user-interface and the mobile technology used to create personalised atmospheres. It also uses sensors so people can literately wave over a point and turn on/off individual lights.
